Hi everyone!
I'm new here, and I have some problems that I can't solve by myself...!!

I have to do a plant simulation in a computer, connecting Wonderware Intouch with some Soft PLC through OPC, and this Soft PLC to Simulink. I'd like to know which Soft PLC is good for this connection, and how to connect them. Also I've heard there is something called PAC, that is similar to a Soft PLC, but I don't know if I can use a PAC instead of a Soft PLC, or which is better.

Which Soft PLC or PAC should I use?

Ok, I can try to help. Let me start my saying that we usually handle simulation with the actual hardware that will run in the plant. In that way you write your program for the plant and you write corresponding simulation code. Some processors have emulators that can be used for this also, but they emulate the hardware that will actually be controlling the plant. I have seen people write separate simulation logic but this really makes no sense as you are not testing and working with your final logic. We dont really use the Soft plcs but we sometimes will use the emulators that Rockwell has for their products.

A PAC is really just another name for some of the new PLC's comming out. I know the manufacturers wouldnt like me saying that, but they are still PLC's to me. For example the Control Logix from AB is considered a PAC. I guess the difference is the tag based architecture and configuration capabilities.
