I read the other thread re cancelling a monthly subscription when using PayPal. Is it just as easy if the payment method is done via credit card?

My situation is I would like to view some of the Wonderware videos detailing communication setup etc of DAServer for a project I am currently starting but I do not want to have to worry about subsequent charges etc to my credit card.

While I understand the value of automatic renewal from a business owners standpoint I do not like it from a customer standpoint. It reminds me of the cable TV providers here is Canada adding new TV channels and automatically giving them to their customers. The reponsibility was then put on us to drop the new channels in order to prevent being charged.

If I could make a couple of suggestions it would be

1) The addition of a 24 hour one time only rate.

2) The ability when subscribing to existing products/services to opt out of the auto renewal.

The free videos I watched were extremely informative and well done so keep up the great work and thanks for your time.

Thanks for the feedback/suggestions. Paypal is the only method we accept right now and they do allow payment via credit cards. They drive me crazy so when it is financially viable we will accept major credit cards directly. As for the subscription, the method we use is the only viable way to offer the services we offer. We already have a lot of confusion due to our monthly/yearly rate. I can imagine more choices would help with that. But really... we offer access to our videos starting at $50. Believe me - that is not a profit center. That level is really designed for college students and others that need a dirt cheap way to get the information. Frankly a year at our highest rate of $99/ month is still less than you would pay for a 4 day cram course and the students actually get to remember what they learn! I guess what I'm really trying to say is that if we had higher prices - even market prices - then your suggestions would be something we could look into. As it is we practically give this stuff away so we just can't afford to do some of the things you mention. Once again, thanks for your suggestions. I always enjoy hearing new ideas.
