Having a hard time connecting with Ethernet? You can always connect with your USB cable and go online just like with an ethernet connection. You dont even have to add a new connection in RSLinx; one will just show up and you should find your processor listed there.

Hi- I just purchased a used micrologix 1100, I order a stipped ac cord 10 amp. I noticed that the micrologix memory module slot is empty.
Is it necessary that I purchase one, or can I begin without it installed? I see that they are pretty expensive.

No the memory module is not necessary. This from the manual:

"The program and data in your MicroLogix 1100 is non-volatile and is stored when the power is lost to the controller. The memory module provides additional backup that can be stored separately. The memory module does not increase the available memory of the controller."

Not all that useful for learning. More of a backup means for an installation. Not really necessary there either.
